Experimental investigation of hot-wire laser deposition for the additive manufacturing of titanium parts

Abstract Hot-wire laser welding is additive manufacturing (AM) technique that allows for the direct creation of complicated objects by melting layers wire. This process characterized use hot-wire process, unification with (LW) in AM process. The empirical investigation employing a on titanium alloy (grade 2) workpiece presented this research. There are three parameters namely wire current, speed, and feeding speed; research examined porosities, microhardness, tensile stress, residual stress. filler metal used AMS (American society) 4951F grade 2 measures 1.6 mm diameter. Finally, suitable hot should be 0.183 cm s −1 current 40 A, speed 1.00 m min A which will give average Vicker microhardness 321.00–345.80 HV, strength 432.02 MPa (substrate); 670.30 (horizontal direction), 497.39 (vertical direction).
